A: "Non White Rock" refers to chicken of all breeds (excluding those included in the definition of White Rock) that have the potential to be grown for the purpose of producing meat to be consumed or to produce chicks for this purpose.
Top A: "White rock" is a colloquial term referring to the most popular meat type birds that are patented varieties of primarily White Plymouth Rock and Cornish types of chicken. The birds are predominantly white feathered, white skinned and lay brown eggs.

Top A: Small Flock Grower means a person registered on the www.smallflock.ca to produce and market no more than 300 meat birds and 100 laying hens on an annual basis while being exempted from the requirement of being fixed and allotted a quota by CFO for the producing and marketing of chicken.

Top A: A Small Flock Grower has the option to purchase chicks for home consumption, on-farm marketing or for egg laying provided that the maximum amount of 300 meat birds and 100 layers is not exceeded.
Top A: Any person in Ontario who registers with CFO as a grower, can grow up to 300 meat birds and 100 laying hens per premise per calendar year for home consumption or on-farm direct sale to customers.
Top A: You may contact a local Hatchery to place an order and at that point they can register you. Or you may contact CFO to obtain a Small Flock Registration number. Once you have obtained your registration number you have received your exemption to grow 300 chickens and 100 laying hens.
